In my quest to become more green around my house I came across a tutorial for home made household cleaning wipes. Not only is it all natural but it reduces your paper waste. It’s a win win!
Old t-shirts
White Vinegar
Disinfecting essential oils
Scissors
Empty Baby wipes container (or even an old pencil box will do)
You can change the essential oil blend of the formulas above as you like, but the following list of essential oils are known to be highly antiseptic. (Interestingly, many of the most germ-killing plants are also used as spices in cooking.) I prefer the scent of peppermint lavender myself.
Cinnamon – cozy, comforting
Clove Bud Essential Oil.
– spicy, warming
Lavender Essential Oil.
– relaxing, soothing
Rosemary – invigorating
Thyme – refreshing, purifying, herbal, peppery
Balsam pine – purifying, vitality-promoting
Eucalyptus essential oil
Sweet orange essential oil
Peppermint
Cut the t-shirt into squares that will fit into your box.
Fill a dish with 2 cups of white vinegar and 30-50 drops of your essential oil scent (total not of each scent)
Soak each square, wring it out and fold it to fit into the container until it is full.
You can wash and re-use your squares over and over.
